hiya Claire - totally new to this chat thing myself the insomnia not so much - 6 years & still no more than 3 hrs a night...if Im lucky :(
ive learnt to live this way - funny how the body adapts...I have a 4 yr old who is VERY energetic during the day yet thankfully I still manage to function. My biggest problem is boredom - I can deal with the not sleeping (most nights) its the being completely alone with it that drives me insane...
Look forward to hearing from you/ talking to you...

xx

my insomnia is just something i live with...self medicate with booze to sleep and coffee to keep me going during the day...has caused some health problems...vasculitus for one...which is a disease where my immune system is attacking itself....i have insomnia since i was 15 and i am 30 now......never took meds for it.....my brain and body nee to be tired for me to sleep if either isn't then i am screwed...i find it hard to tire out the brain though.....

question when you do sleep do you find your dreams more vivid and lucid? i do.....

Lost loads of weight cos i cant be bothered eating and it's now affecting my speesch i just can' get my words out and they come out in the wrong order, which isn't easy when youre an AE nurse

Hey there. It seems I can never catch anyone on the chat server, which is too bad, because by the sounds of it, we are all up anyhow. Sure beats looking at the clock and doing the countdown... four more hours til I get up...three more....and then the alarm goes off and I am expected to begin my day!

I can totally relate. I think that in spite of the danger it puts us all in when we have to drive, etc. insomnia makes you feel so solitary. Though I know it isn't true, it seems like everyone in the world is sleeping but me! My partner, incidentally, is sawing logs beside me right now.

Since I was 10, I have never slept well at all, and like you: I get about 2-3 hours a night without my Rx.
Bah!

I'm here, Claire. always. I work 2 jobs and still can't sleep at night. I hope this site is for real.

Yeah the worst thing about it is the bags a person gets under their eyes. Mine are as black as the night. At least now i can walk around with sunglasses during the day, but i don't know what to do during winter.

Hi there, yeah i certainly feel for all those out there who deal with this problem. I hope to get to know some of my fellow sufferers out there. This website is a great idea, having others to talk to during the odd hours of the night would beat the hell out of staring at my wall thinking about tomorrow.
